This Balsamic Reduction Caprese Quiche is the perfect combination of savory and sweet flavors. Ingredients:
- 1 (9-inch) prepared pie crust
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons balsamic reduction sauce
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup half and half
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 Roma tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Heat the olive oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the salt and pepper.
- Spread the balsamic reduction sauce in the prepared pie crust.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs and half and half.
