Honey-Lavender Scones

These delicious Honey-Lavender Scones are light, fluffy and full of flavor! Made with honey, lavender, and a hint of lemon, they make for the perfect tea-time treat. Serve them warm with your favorite jam or butter for a truly decadent experience.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cold butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon dried lavender
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
  3. Using a pastry blender or two knives, cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the honey, lavender, and lemon zest.
  5. Stir in the buttermilk until the dough comes together.
  6. On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough four or five times, then pat it into a circle 1/2-inch thick.
  7. Use a biscuit cutter or the rim of a glass to cut out scones. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Cool on a wire rack before serving.
