This Chocolate-Orange Marbled Cake is a delicious and unique dessert to make for any occasion. Made with chocolate cake and orange cake swirled together then topped with an orange glaze, this dessert is sure to be a favorite.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups white sugar
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon orange extract
- Orange zest from one orange
- 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- Orange juice glaze (1/2 cup orange juice and 1 cup powdered sugar)
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, oil, vanilla extract, and orange extract.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and whisk together until just combined.
- Divide batter into two separate bowls and add orange zest to one bowl.
- Pour both batters into the prepared pan, alternating spoonfuls of each. Using a butter knife, swirl the batters together to create a marbled pattern.
- Bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the cake comes out clean.
- In a small bowl, whisk together orange juice and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Once cake is done baking, pour orange glaze over the top and let cool completely before serving.
