Whiskey-Infused Irish Apple Cake

Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 apples, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup chopped almonds
- 3 tablespoons whiskey
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9 inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in the eggs, one at a time, then the vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
- Mix in the apples, almonds, and whiskey. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before serving.
