Whiskey-Infused Irish Apple Cake

This decadent Irish apple cake with a hint of whiskey is a delightful way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. A moist cake with a crunchy almond crust, made with sweet apples, cinnamon, and a hint of whiskey, this cake is sure to impress.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds
  • 3 tablespoons whiskey

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9 inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in the eggs, one at a time, then the vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
  3. Mix in the apples, almonds, and whiskey. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  4. Allow to cool before serving.
