Vegan Apple Cinnamon Cake with a Sugar Crust
This vegan apple cinnamon cake is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert. It begins with a simple sugar crust and is topped with a sweet and spiced apple filling. The result is a warm and comforting dessert perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup vegan butter
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 cups apples, peeled, cored and diced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup water
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8 inch square pan.
- In a medium bowl, combine the butter, white sugar, flour and cinnamon. Mix until crumbly. Press the mixture into the prepared pan.
- In a separate bowl, combine the apples, brown sugar, nutmeg, salt and water. Pour the mixture over the crust.
- Bake for 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the apples are tender.
- Allow to cool before serving.
