The recipe is prepared with a light and flaky pastry crust, filled with a creamy mixture of potatoes, mustard seeds, and masala spices. Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds
  • 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 medium-sized potatoes, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garam masala
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cumin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of fennel powder
  • 1/2 cup of frozen peas
  • 1/2 cup of grated cheese (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a 9-inch pie plate with the thawed puff pastry and set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the mustard seeds and garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add the potatoes and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add the garam masala, cumin, turmeric, chili powder, and fennel powder and cook for an additional minute. Add the frozen peas and cook for a few minutes until the potatoes are tender.
