Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing until incorporated. Stir in the sour cream and vanilla extract.

  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
