Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup red food coloring
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, stir together 1 cup flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat together melted butter, 1 cup white sugar, cream cheese, and eggs until smooth. Beat in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and red food coloring. Mix in the flour mixture until just blended.
  4. Mix together sour cream, 1/2 cup white sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a small bowl. Gently stir into the cheesecake batter.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until top is set. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  6. To prepare the frosting, beat together cream cheese, butter, confectioners’ sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until light and fluffy. Spread over cooled cheesecake.
  7. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
