Old-fashioned buttermilk pancakes are a classic breakfast favorite. These pancakes are light and fluffy, with a delicious hint of buttermilk flavor. They are easy to make and are sure to please the whole family.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Heat a griddle or large skillet over medium heat. Grease with butter or cooking spray.
- Pour 1/4 cup of the batter onto the griddle or skillet. Cook until the edges are set and bubbles begin to form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes.
- Flip the pancake and continue to cook until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.
- Repeat with the remaining batter. Serve hot with butter and syrup. Enjoy!
