This Old-Fashioned Apple Bundt Cake with Cinnamon Icing is a classic recipe that will be a hit at any gathering. Using the combination of apples, cinnamon, and delicious icing, this cake is sure to be a favorite.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups peeled and diced apples
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup sour cream
For the Cinnamon Icing:
– 2 cups powdered sugar
– 2 tablespoons melted butter
– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
– 2 tablespoons milk
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a bundt pan.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
3. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add vanilla and mix until combined.
4. Alternately add flour mixture and sour cream to butter mixture, starting and ending with flour. Mix until just combined.
5. Fold in apples and walnuts.
6. Pour batter into prepared bundt pan and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
7. Allow cake to cool in pan for 10 minutes before turning out onto a cooling rack.
8. To make the icing, whisk together all of the ingredients until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cake.
