Mixed Nut Baklava with Puff Pastry
This delicious dessert is made by layering a melted butter and sugar mixture with puff pastry and a variety of mixed nuts. The result is an incredibly sweet and crunchy treat that is sure to be enjoyed by everyone!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped mixed nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans, hazelnuts, etc.)
- 1 package puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten
- Honey for drizzling
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- In a small bowl, mix together melted butter, sugar, and ground cinnamon.
- Unfold and roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut into 2-inch squares.
- Place a small amount of the butter and sugar mixture in the center of each square, followed by a pinch of mixed nuts. Fold the square in half and press the edges together to seal.
- Place the filled puff pastry pieces on a greased baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg and bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown.
- Drizzle with honey and serve warm.
