Ingredients:
Cake:
– 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
– 2 teaspoons baking powder

– 2 large eggs

– 1 cup buttermilk
– ¼ cup red food coloring
– 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
Icing:
– 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
– 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
– 2 ½ cups powdered sugar
– 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.

Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the buttermilk. Mix until just combined.
