Honey-Lavender Scones
These delicious Honey-Lavender Scones are light, fluffy and full of flavor! Made with honey, lavender, and a hint of lemon, they make for the perfect tea-time treat. Serve them warm with your favorite jam or butter for a truly decadent experience.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 4 tablespoons cold butter, cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon dried lavender
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
- Using a pastry blender or two knives, cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the honey, lavender, and lemon zest.
- Stir in the buttermilk until the dough comes together.
- On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough four or five times, then pat it into a circle 1/2-inch thick.
- Use a biscuit cutter or the rim of a glass to cut out scones. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Cool on a wire rack before serving.
