Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Irish cream liqueur
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/2 cup Irish cream flavored frosting

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9-inch square baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla and Irish cream liqueur.
  4. Gradually stir in the dry ingredients until blended. Fold in the walnuts and chocolate chips, if using. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the brownies comes out clean. Allow to cool before frosting.
  6. Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies. Cut into squares and serve.
