  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons orange zest
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • Frosting:

    • 1/2 cup butter, softened
    • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
    • 4 cups powdered sugar
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

    Directions:

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
    2. In a medium bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
    3. In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter and granulated sugar until combined. Add in the eggs, one at a time, and then the vanilla extract.
    4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Then add in the buttermilk, orange zest, lemon juice, and yogurt and mix until just combined.
    5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
    6. Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool completely.
    7. To make the frosting, in a medium bowl, mix together the softened butter and cream cheese until combined.
    8. Add in the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, and mix until combined. Add in the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
    9. Spread the frosting over the cooled cake and enjoy!
