Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan with butter and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, chili powder and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, cocoa powder, granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined. Add the eggs and whisk until light and fluffy.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract. Slowly add the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
