Chocolate Ganache-Filled Red Velvet Cake Roll Recipe

This Chocolate Ganache-Filled Red Velvet Cake Roll is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert. Perfect for any occasion, this decadent cake roll is filled with rich chocolate ganache and made with a light and fluffy red velvet sponge cake.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) vegetable oil
  • 1 cup (250 ml) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons red food coloring
  • 1 cup (250 ml) heavy cream
  • 4 ounces (115 g) dark chocolate, chopped

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 10×15-inch jelly roll pan and line with parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat together the vegetable oil and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. Stir in the buttermilk, vinegar, and red food coloring until evenly combined. Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove from the oven and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. In a medium saucepan, heat the heavy cream until just simmering. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped chocolate until melted and smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.
  8. Once the cake is cooled, spread the chocolate ganache over the cake. Starting at one of the short ends, carefully roll the cake up into a log. Slice and serve.
