Ingredients:
- 1 package of puff pastry (2 sheets), thawed
- 3 tablespoons of butter
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 3/4 cup of shredded cheese (any desired variety)
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

- Roll the remaining puff pastry sheet into a 12-inch square. Place it on top of the onions and press the edges together to seal. Brush the top with the beaten egg.
- Bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown. Slice and serve warm.
