Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup calvados liqueur
  • 3 cups apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup toasted walnuts, chopped

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In the bowl of an electric mixer, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, until fully incorporated. Beat in vanilla extract and calvados liqueur. Gradually mix in flour mixture until just blended.
  4. Fold in diced apples and walnuts. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake in preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  5. Cool cake in pan for 10 minutes, then remove sides of pan and cool completely on a wire rack.
