Mushroom and Gruyere Tart

This savory tart is filled with a mixture of mushrooms, onions, and Gruyere cheese, all nestled in a puff pastry crust.

Ingredients:

  • 1 package puff pastry
  • 1 lb mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. On a floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to fit a 9-inch tart pan.
  3. Transfer the pastry to the tart pan and trim the edges.
  4. Prick the bottom of the pastry with a fork and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
  5. In a pan over medium heat, sauté the mushrooms, onion, and garlic until tender.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Spread the mushroom mixture over the pastry in the tart pan.
  8. Sprinkle the shredded Gruyere cheese over the top.
  9. Brush the beaten egg over the edges of the pastry.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
