- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup (50 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 ounces (115 g) thinly sliced prosciutto
Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Step 2: Prepare the Crust
In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup (125 g) of all-purpose flour, 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) of salt, and 1/3 cup (75 g) of cold butter. Use a pastry blender or two knives to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of cold water and mix until the dough comes together. Form the dough into a ball and flatten it into a disk. Wrap the disk in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Step 3: Roll Out the Dough
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a 12-inch (30 cm) circle. Place the dough in a 9-inch (23 cm) pie plate and press it into the bottom and sides. Trim the edges and crimp them with a fork.
Step 4: Prepare the Filling
In a medium bowl, whisk together 4 eggs, 1/2 cup (120 ml) of heavy cream, 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) of freshly ground black pepper.
Step 5: Assemble the Quiche
Spread 1/2 cup (50 g) of shredded mozzarella cheese in the bottom of the prepared crust. Top with 4 ounces (115 g) of thinly sliced prosciutto. Pour the egg mixture over the top.
Step 6: Bake the Quiche
Bake the quiche for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
